Facebook Up with HackersCup 2013.. annual worldwide programming competition
The Facebook Hacker Cup is an annual worldwide programming competition where hackers compete against each other for fame, fortune, glory and a shot at the title of world champion. Register below to enter the competition.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS; PRIZES. Competitors will be notified at least 1 day before the following Round -- or, in the case of the final Round, within 7 business days of the Round’s close -- as to whether they have advanced to the next Round. Rankings from the Onsite Final Round will be announced within 7 business days following the end of that Round. These rankings, including the competitors’ names or nicknames, will also be posted on the Competition website located at https://www.facebook.com/hackercup/. The top 100 scoring participants from Online Round 2 will receive Facebook Hacker Cup t-shirt sent to the address used in Registration. A cash prize of equivalent value may be given where required by law, or at Facebook's discretion. Any duties and taxes (if applicable) are the sole responsibility of the recipients. Onsite Competitors who attend and compete in the Onsite Final Round will receive the following prizes based on their scores in the Onsite Final Round.

COMPETITION ROUNDS. The Competition is split into multiple Rounds. In each Round, competitors will receive scores based on answers they provide to a series of problems, as further described below. After each Round, a specified number of competitors with the highest scores in that Round will advance to the next Round. Contestants must successfully solve at least 1 problem to advance past any round in the competition. The Qualification Round and Rounds 1, 2 and 3 will be held online. The onsite final round will be at Facebook’s office in Menlo Park, California, USA.
* Qualification Round. The competition commences with a 72-hour Qualification Round on January 25, 2013 at 4:00 PM PT and ends on January 27, 2013 at 4:00 PM PT. All registered competitors will be presented with three problems. Each problem will consist of one input file. Competitors can log in to the competition website and attempt to solve the 3 problems anytime during the 72-hour period of the Qualification Round. Only competitors who correctly solve at least 1 problem will advance to Online Round 1.
* Online Round 1. Online Round 1 will last 24 hours and start February 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM PT and end February 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM PT. During the round, competitors must log in to the Competition website and will be presented with a problem set as described later in this document. The top 500 highest scoring competitors will advance to Online Round 2.
* Online Round 2. The top 500 (or more) highest scoring competitors advancing to Online Round 2 will be notified by email after the end of Online Round 1. Online Round 2 will begin on February 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM PT and end February 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM PT. Online Round 2 competitors will log in to the Competition website during this time and be presented with a problem set to be solved and submitted as explained in the next Section of these Terms. The top-scoring 100 competitors from Online Round 2 will receive an official Hacker Cup t-shirt.
* Online Round 3. The top 100 competitors advancing to Online Round 3 will be notified by email after the end of Online Round 2. Online Round 3 will begin on February 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM PT and end February 17, 2013 at 4:00 PM PT. Online Round 3 competitors will log in to the Competition website during this time and be presented with a problem set to be solved and submitted as explained in the next Section of these Terms. The top-scoring 25 competitors from Online Round 3 will be notified by email after the close of the round that they have advanced to the Onsite Final Round.
* Onsite Final Round. The top-scoring 25 competitors from the Online Round 3 will advance to the Onsite Final Round on March 22, 2013 at the Facebook offices in Menlo Park, California, USA. Certain costs of travel for this trip for each competitor will be paid by Facebook as detailed below. During the Onsite Final Round, competitors will be asked to solve a problem set as explained below using Facebook-provided computer equipment only (with the exception of a competitor-supplied keyboard if the competitor wishes). Other materials will be permitted to the competitors at Facebook's discretion. A list of such materials will be communicated to competitors by email not less than 7 days before the beginning of the final round. Onsite Final Round competitors will receive the prizes detailed below depending on their scores and rankings from this Round.
